The Leading Scientist is directing a world-class laboratory in Reaction Dynamics and Materials in Extreme Environments. The objectives of the Leading Scientist’s research program are to explore the reaction dynamics of elementary reactions and the synthesis of novel materials in extreme environments exploiting multiple surface science machines, an ultrasonic levitation device, and a gas phase crossed molecular beams scattering chamber; selected experiments are also conducted at international user facilities such as at the Advanced Light Source (Berkeley) and the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (Hefei).
