В лаборатории созданы и изучены новые хиральные полупроводниковые наноматериалы и наноструктуры, обладающие оптической активностью. Показано, что хиральность нанокристаллов и многих других структур может быть связана с природными дефектами и примесями.
Новый класс оптически активных нанокристаллов открыл широкие возможности для дальнейшего развития фармакологии и медицины, биологии и нанотехнологий.
Белки и углеводы живых организмов обладают хиральностью, оптической изомерией, – свойством, практически недостижимым методами традиционной химии. Получение хиральных нанокристаллов и наноструктур позволит создавать более эффективные лекарственные препараты, биосенсоры и другие медицинские инструменты.
