Цель проекта:
Создание в университете лаборатории криогенной наноэлектроники, способной конкурировать с ведущими лабораториями мира в области сверхчувствительных криогенных детекторов.

Основные задачи проекта:
1. Быстрое (за 5-6 лет) преодоление 20-летнего отставания отечественной криогенной наноэлектроники;
2. Расширение практического использования болометра на холодных электронах (БХЭ) в астрономических проектах.

3. Туннельный эффект Джозефсона, термоэлектрические эффекты в сверхпроводниках.
4. Предельные измерения, сквиды, Андреевские интерферометры.

Основные научные достижения:
- наблюдение коррелированного туннелирования одиночных электронов в пространстве (эффект SET транзистора);
- наблюдение коррелированного туннелирования Куперовских пар во времени;
- наблюдение коррелированного туннелирования одиночных электронов во времени и пространстве (SET колебания);
- изобретение новой концепции болометра на холодных электронах (БХЭ);
- изобретение концепций параллельно/последовательной цепочки БХЭ;
- изобретение само-совмещенной технологии теневого напыления для туннельных переходов большой площади и наноабсорберов;
- разработка новой концепции термоэлектрического болометра (ТЕБ).

Научное признание:
- автор более 120 публикаций в рецензируемых журналах;
Имеет следующие награды и знаки отличия:
- от Комитета по делам изобретений и открытий СССР за открытие "Явления одночастотной параметрической регенерации колебаний в системах со слабой сверхпроводимостью" (1984 г.);
- премия в сфере образования от Чалмерского технологического университета за создание самого чувствительного термометра в мире (2006 г.);
- являлся председателем 13 международных симпозиумов и 3 международных школ для молодых ученых.
