The project will conduct fundamental and exploratory research in the development of new methods of nonlinear optical microspectroscopy and coherent control over the interaction of light with matter in microstructured waveguides (MW), which are optical fibers of new type intended for generation of new quantum states of light and control over such light fields.
The work is generally targeted into the following four directions: (i) the development of nonlinear-optical methods for the generation of quantum states of light in fibers with actively formed dispersion and nonlinearity, including the generation of entangled states as a result of four-wave mixing in microstructured optical fibers, the compression of light and quantum reduction of noise during nonlinear-optical transformations in microstructured fibers, (ii) the development of fiber-optic sources of pure single-photon states, (iii) the development of fiber-optic systems for production of practically significant quantum memory with high efficiency, long lifetime, high information capacity, as well as the ability to work at room
temperature, (iv) the development of fiber-optic quantum sensors.
Implementation of this project implies an integrated approach based on experimental studies with the application of modern laser systems and on theoretical analysis supported by numerical simulations.
