The winners of the InnoStar competition of projects designed by young scientists and innovators were honoured at the official awards ceremony that was held on December 5, 2013 at the MOD Center for Contemporary Design and Innovations. The awards ceremony was organized by the Department of science, industrial policy and entrepreneurship of the Moscow City Government in collaboration with Park-Media.

The primary goal of the InnoStar project is to encourage youth to develop an interest and engage in scientific research and innovation activities, as well as to popularize scientific professions, solutions, and research projects.

The event brought together more than two hundred guests to whom the finalists of the InnoStar competition represented by six young scientists presented their innovative projects. The competition winners were selected and identified by the members of the competition panel in real time. Thecompetitionwinnersincludedthefollowingthreeindividuals:

Ms. Yulia Pryakhina, Moscow Institute of Architecture, with her project “Designing a transcontinental corridor within the structure of a megalopolis: the space formed by the Yaroslavl backbone channel and intersecting thoroughfares”;

Mr. Pavel Kordyukov, RussianUniversity of People’s Friendship, with his project “Drainage system designed to sprig rooftops sloping at an angle of more than 25°”;

Mr. Igor Sapyolkin, Moscow Institute of Power Engineering, with his project “Modular meter of electric power quality parameters”.

The competition winners received their awards and congratulations from Mr. Vladislav Ashmarin, the head of the Department of science, industrial policy and entrepreneurship of the Moscow City Government, Mr. Alexander Gordeyev, the head of the Department of new science and education instruments of the Science and Education Division of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, and Ms. Yevgeniya Pustovalova, the Director of the InnoStar project.

The audience choice award went to Mr. Vyacheslav Belov from the Integrated Nuclear Research Institute for his project “Designing an antineutrino spectrometer for online control over nuclear reactor parameters”.  

The most active InnoStar Club members who had attended all lectures and training sessions were rewarded with special pins, while Alexey Rolich (a representative of WISeNetLab, an interuniversity laboratory of innovative projects), who was identified as the most active project participant, received a paid tuition certificate for a foreign language school.

No participant of the ceremony left without a gift and the ceremony itself felt like a festive and solemn occasion.

New projects and new victories are waiting for us in the next year!
