Today, in St. Petersburg, the IPS-21 conference began its work. It is dedicated to latest achievements and prospects in the field of solar energy. For the first time in 42 years the conference is held in Russia.
The co-organizers of the IPS-21 conference are SPbSU Professor Alexei Emelin and head of the University laboratory "Photoactive nanocomposite materials", established on the funds of a megagrant by the RF Government order 220, Professor of the.G. Leibniz University in Hannover (Germany) Detlef Bahnemann.
International conference on conversion and storage of solar energy (International Conference on Photochemical Conversion and Storage of Solar Energy IPS) is the largest scientific forum devoted to modern problems in this sphere. Since 1974 the event is held once in two years in the leading world scientific centers such as the University of Seoul (IPS-18), California Institute of Technology (IPS-19), the Max Planck Institute in Berlin (IPS-20). The International Organizing Committee of the forum consists of prominent scientists, world leaders in the field of solar energy conversion.
In 2010 in Seoul, SPbSU Professor Alexei Emelin was elected to the international organizing committee of IPS from Russia, and in 2012 he represented the SPbSU as a candidate for the next conference. The international Organizing Committee has supported this idea and in 2016, the IPS conference will be held in Russia for the first time.
