General de Gaulle had a special place to relations with Russia, and his trip to Moscow at the height of the Cold War marked the beginning of major cooperation programs. In particular, during the visit of the French President in the summer of 1966 an intergovernmental agreement on space partnership was signed, one result of which was the first flight of the French astronaut aboard the Soviet space station.
This year, in celebration of the French side intends to organize a visit of Secretary of State for Science France Mr. Mandona in Moscow and Novosibirsk. The chosen route - a repetition of the route of Charles de Gaulle in 1966. Secretary of State will be accompanied by Nobel laureates and famous French scientists.
At the Conference "Science of the Future" to be held from 20 to 23 September in Kazan, the 50th anniversary of scientific-technical cooperation between Russia and France will be marked by the visit of Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Lyudmila Mikhailovna Ogorodova and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Russia Jean Maurice Ripert. Also, a number of speeches of Russian and French scientists is planned on September, 21. Leading scientists from Russia and France will share with young scientists their experience in the field of new materials, manufacturing technologies and processes.
