Konstantin Agladze has been awarded the prize of the Russian Academy of Sciences for contribution to science

Konstantin Igorevitch Agladze has been awarded by the Russian Academy of Sciences for contribution to science. The Silver Sigma Prize has been awarded to the scientist at the “Biomedicine – 2016” Conference that had been held on June 26 – July 1 in Novosibirsk.

Professor Agladze became one of the first Megagrants’ Competition winners. The Laboratory of Biophysics of excitable systems under his leadership was organized at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MFTI). The main scientific works of K. I. Agladze are devoted to the Biophysics of excitable environment, theoretical and experimental justification of low-voltage defibrillation. K. I. Agladze has been one of the first to use in his works the Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction as a "chemical computer" and has showed that the wave environment could be used for image processing and solving optimization problems.
